ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 includes new functionality related to using ArcMap service runtime and Python 2.x in your installation, provides email notifications when disk space on federated servers runs low, and supports a few new sources for user-defined data stores.

Email notifications when disk space is low

When the disk space on your server machine reaches a specific threshold, defaulted to 10 GB and 1 GB of remaining space, warnings are written to the ArcGIS Server logs to notify you that you need to add disk space to the machine. Now, an email will also be sent to administrative contacts set in the portal to warn of low disk space if you configure email notification for the portal.

Optional ArcMap service runtime and Python 2.x installation

At 10.9.1, when you install or upgrade ArcGIS Server, you have the option to disable the ArcMap Runtime Support feature. You can also disable or enable the ArcMap Runtime Support feature after installing or upgrading ArcGIS Server. This feature enables the ability to publish and host ArcMap based services and includes an installation of Python 2.x. If your organization has concerns about installing Python 2.x on your system, disabling this feature will ensure that Python 2.x is not installed with ArcGIS Server.

ArcGIS Knowledge

With ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1, ArcGIS Knowledge introduces the ability to create a knowledge graph, leveraging a new ArcGIS Data Store graph store and an ArcGIS Knowledge Server site. Knowledge graphs let you model real world systems in a nonspatial manner. Entities represent real-world objects, and the relationships establish the connections between entities. Properties can be used to record facts about an entity or a relationship. The knowledge graph can reference documents that provide authoritative sources of the information in the knowledge graph.

Hardware requirements

The minimum RAM requirement for ArcGIS GIS Server, ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Image Server, or ArcGIS Knowledge Server is 8 GB per machine.

For a production environment, hardware requirements are not listed because the user and business needs of the software may vary. These requirements must be considered in determining hardware needs to meet performance and scalability expectations.

ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server requires a minimum of 16 GB of RAM per machine.

When configuring ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server, ensure that the drive hosting the user profile has sufficient temporary space available, or modify the GeoAnalytics Server temporary file location after installation. When determining a sufficient value, consider the input data size, the type of GeoAnalytics task, and the number of nodes in your site.

ArcGIS Server requires a minimum of 10 GB of available disk space.

Supported web browsers

ArcGIS Server Manager requires one of the following web browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
