Office 365 is integrated with Microsoft OneDrive. The University of Alberta has no administrative custody or control over this space and therefore OneDrive should not be used for any university records or information. To maintain the university's information management, privacy, and security compliance, continue using UAlberta Google Apps or university-based network storage for all university-related information and documents.

Please note: Many of these questions have been pulled from Microsoft’s Office 365 support document and modified to reflect the University of Alberta’s scenario.

The information below applies to all users of Office 365. It does not apply to users of the standard Microsoft Office suite that is included in the University of Alberta Windows 7 image, or to any other Microsoft products offered through OnTheHub.

What is the Office 365 Education ProPlus Suite?
Starting in the fall of 2014, students, faculty and staff can sign up and use Office 365 services using their ccid@ualberta.ca email addresses, including Office 365 ProPlus and OneDrive for Business. As soon as they sign up, students, faculty and staff can immediately get started with the full functionality of Office.
Office 365 Education for Students, Faculty and Staff includes Office 365 ProPlus, which allows students, faculty and staff to install the latest version of Office on up to five PC or Mac computers* and on other mobile devices, including Windows tablets and the iPad. It includes 1 terabyte (TB) of OneDrive for Business storage per user, for schoolwork and homework.
*Access and Publisher are available on PCs only. OneNote for Mac is available as a separate download from the Mac App Store.
How do I sign up for Office 365?
Please visit the Microsoft Office 365 Portal (see above) and register using your ccid@ualberta.ca email address. Your eligibility will be checked and further instructions provided to register an account.
You must sign up using your ‘[ccid]@ualberta.ca’ email address. Do not use your alias (i.e. first.last@ualberta.ca) or a personal email address to register.
I am having difficulties downloading Office through this program. What resources are available to help with this?
